Hi, I’m Cheryl, Mother, Author and Entrepreneur.

I have three wonderful, strong willed daughters who really keep me on my toes, there’s certainly never a dull minute in our house. I also live with my husband Rich and our crazy French Bulldog - Meeko. I’m not sure out of the 5 of them who causes me most trouble, but I love them all dearly and I wouldn’t change a thing.

We live in a small town in Staffordshire, UK. We love being outdoors and exploring the beautiful local forests and countryside, although you may find me out and about a little less in the winter. I was definitely born to live in a warmer climate. My favourite thing to do is to go on holidays within the UK and abroad and explore the surroundings. My all-time favourite holiday destination has to be Disney World, Florida! I just can’t resist the magic and of course the sun!

I have always had a love of writing and working with children. Becoming a children’s author ticks both boxes for me. After completing my Bachelors Degree in Childhood Studies I worked for almost 20 years supporting children through 1-1 support and group work sessions within schools and various other settings. Working holistically on their emotional wellbeing, addressing many issues including; self-esteem, anger management, worries, anxiety and fear to name a few.  I worked creatively to aid their recovery and focused on arts and crafts, wishes and dreams, goals and aspirations, positive affirmations, relaxation and mindfulness. I also encouraged creative writing and journal/diary entries.

I really do believe that writing is therapeutic, whether fictional or auto biographical. My own writing journey started at 7 years old when I wrote a poem at school which was published in a local church magazine. I also loved writing stories and writing letters to penpals, both ones that I had met on holidays and others who I had spent ages searching through teletext to find, long before the days of the internet (showing my age now!) During my teen years my love of writing poetry was developed further as I used it a lot as a means of releasing my feelings and emotions. Since then I have enjoyed writing various styles of poetry for friends and family and in my spare time I started writing a few children’s poems. One of those poems originally entitled Fairy Unique, was later to become my debut children’s picture book - The Fairy who Sings.

Alongside my books I aim to develop further resources to empower children and through school visits and various workshops I hope to be able to help more children to ‘Find’ their ‘Magic Within’.
